Heading into Autumn at HF

We’ve had a glorious summer at HF with many sunny sessions allowing us to make full use of the fields and enjoy our new training zone.

It’s been great to see so many of you fitting your workouts in around your holidays and then send us some brilliant holiday snaps. For those of you still heading away there’s still time to send us your photos as we will announce the winner in the next newsletter!

Heading into September you may feel it’s time to re-focus on your fitness and set yourself a new challenge or goal to achieve over the next 6 weeks or before Christmas.

The challenge could be big or small, it could be Horsham Fitness based; increase your squatting weight, learn double unders, advance to chest to ground burpees, or even attend 3 sessions a week consistently for the next 6 weeks. You may want to enter a 10km race, a muddy race or a triathlon, anything that will increase your motivation to train hard and keep you moving forward.

On Saturday we hosted a fitness test for those that wanted to set themselves a benchmark to improve upon. If you missed it this time don’t worry we’ll be doing it again, it’s good to see so many of you wanting to test and improve yourselves.

The great thing about fitness is there is always something new to master. Let us know what you want to focus on and we will help, or if you are struggling to think of a personal challenge let us know the options are endless!

Pricing news

Hopefully you all received our communication last week regarding our pricing restructure.

We believe that these new prices remain highly competitive and provide excellent value for money. We have already added a new session to our timetable on Sunday’s at 0915 (starting on the 16th) and are also planning new classes as we endeavour to maximise our input to your health and fitness journey.

Star HF Member of the month

Snezana

Congratulations to Snezana who is this months Member of the Month. Snezana has been fully committed to her health and fitness over the last 4 months and has had truly amazing body changing and life changing results. We are very proud of you Snezana and all your hard work you will inspire many people.

“I am one of the founding members of Horsham Fitness, as I joined shortly after Katie and Mark started it. Exercising a few times a week resulted in much wanted weight loss. Fast forward to beginning of this year and I found myself in that common mistake of thinking that it’s okay to have an extra biscuit/glass of wine, as a reward, because I am doing boot camp four times a week! This combined with the taboo of menopause had resulted in the pounds slowly, but surely piling on.

Deep down I knew I needed to do something, but ignoring the problem was much easier than taking any action. A friend of mine has started running Chris Hill Beat my Addiction retreat workshops and so I joined her for a weekend in March, just to see what all the fuss was about. By Sunday, I had decided to give up all sugars, alcohol and caffeine.

Daily exercise and being outdoors is a big part of the Chris Hill Program and that’s why Horsham Fitness is SO important. Katie and Mark have been absolutely amazing, encouraging and supportive all the way. The workouts are challenging, but it’s never a competition. We all work to our own level of fitness, with Mark and Katie concentrating on the positive and providing individual support at every class. Working outside in a group is so much more fun than going to gym by yourself. Following the Chris Hill Plan to give up sugars and alcohol wasn’t as hard as you might think. Katie, Mark and the 09.30 Ladies have played a big part in helping me achieve my goal and for that I am forever grateful.”

Shoreham Dragon Boat Race 2018

32 oars people and 2 drummers braved the rain, wind and waves at this years festival and not even the teams names of Deep Ship and Horsham Floaters deterred their enthusiasm, determination and team spirit. Both crews put in 3 great performances, each beating last years times, with Deep Ship just failing to qualify for the finals by under a second!! (the announcer was very pleased).

Very many thanks to all participants, supporters and especially the suppliers of the solids, liquids and cover. Without these we would have been sunk

We are hoping to enter 3 crews next year so please let us know if you are interested. It will be on the bank holiday Sunday at the end of August.

We have so much more to look forward to in the last few months of 2018; Sunday morning sessions, Charity Challenges, Christmas socials and goals to smash!

But finally and contrary to recent speculation Mark is not retiring from HF!

Mark is however handing over his Thursday morning sessions to Don who will now be working more closely with us. Mark will be keeping up the hard work by utilising this free time looking at ways we can improve our offering to you all.
