ANOTHER GREAT YEAR AT HORSHAM FITNESS

2017 has brought about some great achievements both personally and as a team.

We’ve come together and smashed seven 6-week progressive intense workout programmes and one 8-week programme. We battled Gladiators, mud and foam at the Gauntlet Games and raced Dragon Boats against strong river currents in Shoreham’s River Adur.

The success of the year was topped off in December with our Charity Challenge where we lifted the bar by epic heights raising a huge amount of money all for a local charity. Read our full write up below.

We’ve loved workouts and not-loved workouts but most importantly we’ve come together as a team, who many now regard as friends, to support and encourage one another to improve ourselves whatever our motivation.

Recognise personal achievements no matter how big or small as these provide your motivation to move forward and set new personal goals.

Remember progress is progress and sometimes progress is your efforts and not just your results. Stay positive, stay together and stay strong and never give up.

Star HF Member of the Month

Congratulations to Steve Evans who is this months HF Star Member. Steve has a great attitude to exercise, you can always find him at the 1915 or Saturday session giving it his all. His dedication is reflected in his results and his friendly, socaiable manner makes the sessions even more enjoyable. Great work Steve, keep it up!

“My fitness journey started early in 2015 when I realised that an ever expanding waist line finally had to be dealt with. I started running (and running and running) and lost the excess weight. Then winter arrived and I realised how hard it was to motivate yourself to go running when it is cold, dark and wet.

A friend of mine then suggested joining him at something called Horsham Fitness. I found the first few sessions incredibly hard (and ached for days afterwards) but really enjoyed the experience of working out in a group – for me its the right combination of support and mickey taking. I also realised my running was getting far easier so I knew it must be doing me some good.

In the last year I’ve increased the Horsham Fitness sessions and reduced the running. I’ve also stopped avoiding Thursdays and the dreaded kettle bells. As a result I feel fitter and stronger than I ever expected to be. There are still plenty of goals to aim for in 2018 though, namely double unders, unassisted pull ups and not dreading every single second of the core workouts.”

HORSHAM FITNESS 2017 CHARITY CHALLENGE

We raised a staggering £805 through the event and raffle and this amount was matched by Barclays Bank!

The largest ever Horsham Fitness Team of 48 participants plus associated helpers, children and supporters assembled at 0830 on Sat 2nd December to take part in the annual Charity Challenge which aims to raise funds for a local charity. This year the nominated charity was Horsham Responders whose members provide invaluable support to the ambulance service with emergency medical response, plus providing life saving training courses and defibrillators in the area.

A gruelling multi exercise workout completed with much laughter and banter was followed by well deserved hot drinks and mince pies and a raffle with very generous donations by local businesses and individuals.

Horsham Fitness would like to thank Horsham Responders for the fantastic work they do and everyone involved and contributed to a truly memorable morning.

2018. Make it happen

We want you to start 2018 with some great habits and we’d love to help you.

Set yourself some personal goals long term (6 weeks) and we’ll help you set some short term (daily) behaviour based goals to help you reach these long term goals.

We can also give you guidance on how to track your daily progress keeping you accountable and aiding motivation.
